***NOTE: Corn values vary depending on delivery location PLEASE call for updates.
Crude is sharply lower, $$ is a bit weaker. Any bulls left can?t expect any help from the weather. The next 10 day forecast looks awesome for crop development, and if you can believe it, they are actually calling for better scores this week than last weeks 72% G-Ex. All futures were called lower, and it didn?t take long. Wheats are off 5-6, corn is down another 7-9 and beans are off 20-30. No deliveries against corn, while wheat continues to see heavy deliveries. Sept Corn is resting on the last level of support in the $3 range, the next level is like $2.91. EPA extended their comment deadline on the RFS to 9/25. Currently we have 4 byn bu plugged into corn demand for ethanol, with the standard currently calling for 36 byn gallons (equivalent of 12 byn bu of corn) by 2022. Export inspections were weak on corn and wheat with only 31.1 myn bu of corn shipped and 12.1 myn bu of wheat. There was a sale of 6 myn bu reported Friday to an ?unknown?.
Informa released new production estimates. They are now projecting 915 myn bu of HRW (up 47 myn bu vs. last month, down 120 myn vs. last year). Corn was interesting as they are now projecting 12.5 byn bu prod. For those keeping track that is an increase of 423 myn bu vs. last month, putting them a little ahead of USDA numbers.
Saudi Arabia booked 16 myn bu of US, Canadian and Euro wheat over the weekend, and SWW ?feels? like it might have some legs under it. Rabobank trimmed their estimates of the Aussie crops for ?09-10 citing El Nino effects. They will use 22.8 myn mt. The monsoons in India and China have stalled out somewhat, giving less precip than they would normally expect. It has also been starting to get too dry in the Ukraine. I haven?t seen any production decreases yet, just ?whispers?.
***Didja Know: Words for Fishermen: Reel; the weight that causes a rod to sink quickly when dropped overboard. School: A group of fish taught to avoid that snazzy looking $20 lure. Catch and release: The motion that happens most often right before the local fish and game pulls up to a boat that has caught more than its limit?.
