***NOTE: Corn values vary depending on delivery location PLEASE call for updates.

US $$ is up, crude is lower. Weekly sales reports were a mixed bag. Couple of notes: the report is too late to show any effects from the June 30 report. Also remember that next weeks report will be a bit shorter due to the upcoming holiday. Corn sales were a brisk 51.8 myn bu vs. 21.6-33 myn bu estimate. If we maintain this pace, it is certainly high enough to encourage some upward revision of the S&D’s providing the corn is actually shipped. Wheat: 8.8 myn bu vs. a range of 9.1 – 12.9. So we missed the mark a bit. The crop year is still early. Moving forward the strength of the $$ and competing world crops will have a lot more impact on total sales.

Fun Trivia:  How far can a dog run into the woods?

This day in History:  1937: Amelia Earhart disappears     1776: Congress votes for independence    1863: The second day of battle at Gettysburg

Quote to Note:  Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.      – Abraham Lincoln

Answer:  Halfway.  Since we have no idea how large the woods are, the distance in actual measurement becomes irrelevant.  At the halfway point the dog will be running out of the woods.
