Export sales reports were BULLISH…again! Traders were looking for corn to fall somewhere in the range of 39-70 myn bu (HUMONGOUS range). Actual was 45.4 myn bu plus 1.2 myn bu of NEW CROP, which is interesting in itself. Wheat: expected sales range was 11-20, and actual was 18.9 myn bu. Last night Japan was in for a larger than normal tender and booked an additional 5.5 (will be a good start for next weeks report). They also booked .9 myn bu from Aussie and .9 from Canada. Also overnight there was a report that South Korea booked 3.9 myn bu of US corn, and that there were 5.5 myn bu of SRW CANCELLATIONS. This is the first major cancellation we have heard about.

Strategie Grains is projecting a 15% INCREASE in wheat production for 2008-09. They have opened up there 10% set aside, plus increased wheat plantings by about 4-5 %. They are also projecting a 26% increase in corn. Overall they have a projected cereal increase of 14%. Recent rains are said to be VERY helpful on Argie corn and bean crops. Apparently it rained right where it was the driest, and in good amount (some areas rec’d up to 100mm (about 4+ inches).
